School Hours

School opens for the normal school day at 08:30hrs and pupils are in their classrooms by 08:45hrs. School finishes at 15:30hrs when pupils are either collected by their parents or attend After School Club. Breakfast Club is available from 07:30hrs to 08:30hrs and After School Care from 15:30hrs to 18:00hrs. Read more about our Extra-Curricular care here

Meals

A full lunch, cooked on site every day by our chefs,  is included in school fees. This includes meat and vegetarian options, freshly cooked homemade bread, salad bar, fruit and dessert and in winter, homemade soup.  If pupils attend After School Club after 4.30pm they are also provided with a cooked tea with dessert. In Nursery 1 and 2, nappies, formula milk, meals and snacks are included. To see our current lunch menu, click here.

Uniform

Uniform can be purchased from our official uniform suppliers, Stevensons, in Reading. To view a full list of the Waverley uniform and for contact details of Stevensons, click here.

House System

All pupils belong to one of three houses: Neptune, Mercury and Jupiter. House points are awarded in recognition of excellent attainment, behaviour and effort as well as in performances in the annual House Music Competition, Swimming Gala and Sports Day. At the end of the academic year, the House Cup is presented to the winning House. 

Swimming and Sports

Your child will take part in a number of different team and individual sports including:

  • Swimming (once per week from Year 1 onwards)
  • Football
  • Netball
  • Hockey
  • Tag-Rugby
  • Touch-Rugby
  • Rounders
  • Gymnastics
  • Dance
  • PE
  • Athletics
  • Badminton
  • Tennis
  • Biathlons and triathlons

From Year 3 onwards, children take part in regular sports fixtures against other Independent Schools in the local area. For more information about sports, click here.

The Arts

All children regularly take part in school choir assemblies, many children learn to play an instrument, or work towards Speech and Drama examinations. Click here for more information about the Arts.

Gifted & Talented and Individual Support/Special Educational Needs (SEN)

The school undertakes rigorous tracking and monitoring of each pupil's progress so that any learning needs can be quickly identified and supported. Likewise, if your child shows academic potential, then an enriched programme is designed specific to your child. Open Days

We do not hold Open Days but prefer the personal approach. Upon receipt of an Application Form, we normally offer a 1-2-1 tour of our School and Nursery at a mutually convenient time. To arrange a visit, please complete our Prep School Application Form here via our Admissions portal. There is no fee to register - the Application Form simply helps us get to know our prospective families in a little more detail.
