After School, Breakfast and Holiday Clubs Manager - Applications close 13/4/26

Waverley Prep School is seeking a highly organised, passionate and creative After School, Breakfast and Holiday Clubs Manager to lead and develop this vital part of our care offering.

 

Role Overview

This is a fantastic opportunity to reinvigorate our Breakfast, After School and Holiday Clubs, where we provide a fun, safe and engaging environment for children of 5 – 11years. Our Breakfast and After School Clubs offerpupils the chance to relax, socialise and participate in a range of activities at the start and end of the school day. Our Holiday Club enables children to experience new challenges, have fun and make new friends during school holidays and half-terms.

 

The role is a permanent position which will operate 51 weeks a year (Waverley is completely closed for one week a year at Christmas). The Clubs Manager reports to the Head and is regarded as a key senior member of Waverley staff.

 

About Us

Waverley Prep School is a thriving independent primary school located in Finchampstead, Wokingham with a warm, family-oriented ethos. Our busy Breakfast and After School Clubs are a crucial and essential part of our school’s offering, operating 5 days a week from 7.30am-8.30am and 3.30pm-6pm. Our Holiday Club is open to both Waverley and non-Waverley children of primary school age. Together, our clubs operate 51 weeks a year.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the daily running of the Breakfast, After-School Club and Holiday Club.
  • Plan and deliver a variety of active, relaxing and creative activities.
  • Explore and implement new activities to keep our clubs revitalised and appealing.
  • Ensure a safe and fun environment for all children.
  • Supervise and engage with children.
  • Manage, encourage and work with Waverley’s small team of Clubs staff as well as a number of external specialist activity providers.
  • Maintain registers, records and communications with parents.
  • Ensure the provision runs in line with school safeguarding and health & safety procedures.
  • Work with the school’s Senior Management Team, marketing department and Club staff to provide a smoothly-run, fun and varied clubs programme that operates within budget.

 

The Ideal Candidate

  • Has experience working with children in a school or childcare setting, preferably in an After School and/or Holiday Club setting.
  • Is organised, reliable and confident in leading activities.
  • Proactive to explore and initiate new ideas in our clubs offering.
  • Has excellent communication, PC skills and is a team player.
  • Is enthusiastic about supporting children’s wellbeing and development.
  • Has a good understanding of safeguarding and child welfare.
  • Holds NVQ Level 3 or higher (or equivalent) in childcare.

 

Remuneration

Salary will be dependent upon experience. Waverley salaries are highly competitive and the role also has a bonus. Lunch included depending on working hours. Waverley promotes professional development and the role will be supported by a passionate Senior Management Team.

 

Hours of Work

There is flexibility regarding working hours but this is not a term-time only position.
