'Best in Berkshire' - Ranked 22nd in the UK and 3rd in the Home Counties
Ranked 22nd in the UK: We are proud to announce that Waverley has achieved another superb ranking in the National Prep School league tables – the school is now ranked 22nd in the UK. Our ranking is based on the most recently issued league tables - published in November 2019.
The Sunday Times published its annual ranking of Prep and Junior Schools on Sunday 17th Nov 2019 and Waverley yet again featured high in the rankings, in 22nd place. This result confirms Waverley as the Best Prep School in Berkshire and 3rd in the Home Counties.
Best in Berkshire:
We are also delighted to share the news that Waverley has jumped over 20 places from our ranking last year of number 48. Rankings are based on the academic performance of our Year 6 cohort. There are 2,026 Prep Schools and over 18,000 junior schools in the UK. This ranking is also based on the most recently issued league tables which were published in November 2019.
Exceptional Leap in Ranking: Waverley has jumped over 20 places from our ranking last year (November 2018) of number 48 to our current ranking of number 22. Rankings are based on academic performance of our Year 6 cohort.
Our Ethos: Our school is a modern school which is a combination of traditional and modern teaching methods. We are also proud to maintain single form entry with only 20 children in each year. We strongly believe that this combination is the best way of ensuring that all our pupils realise their full potential. We are proud to see that this ethos consistently produces proven results as demonstrated in our Times ranking and also in the knowledge that last year, all our Year 6 pupils were offered a place at their chosen Secondary School.
The results of our Year Six pupils are ranked against other Prep schools, both single sex and also highly selective, and reflect high achievement at "Level Five" which is in excess of national expectations for this age group.
Although not considered by the Times Top 100 Prep Schools, our results at Level Six were also outstanding and show the stretch and challenge our pupils are able to undertake as part of our innovative curriculum.
We are very proud of the achievements of this cohort and wish them continuing success at their new schools.
